Case study - Datastore online
Datastore online
Application development
Datastore is an online computer backup facility enabling users to safely store data using a Windows-like browser- based interface.
Client
The application was developed at the request of CambIT Support, which provides flexible and affordable computer, network and Web support for home users and small/medium size businesses in Cambridge and the surrounding areas.
Challenge
To create an application which would enable manual and automatic backups from user's computers and store files securely.
Solution
The Logic House created a sophisticated web application allowing individual and business users to subscribe to a service (though online payment system) which allows users to manage their safely stored data files. The application has been designed with a windows-like user friendly interface with options such as create directory, copy, move, rename and delete, as well more advanced functions such as java multi-files uploader. The subversion system allows users to keep up to four copies of the same file on the system with option to restore if this should become necessary.
