Application development

InterAct extranet application is a project management environment used by participants operating across Europe and India.

Client

InterAct is an EU funded large scale program, designed to discover how genetic and lifestyle behavioral factors interact in their influence on the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and investigate how these discoveries may help to prevent the development of diabetes.

Challenge

The InterAct project required a system that would enable members from across ten different countries to access information, register for meetings and training sessions, share files, and would allow selected users to contribute to project reports.

Solution

The Logic House created a user friendly extranet application with features such as:

Dashboard: After logging in the main screen of the extranet application is the Dashboard. It displays a calendar showing entries from the Administrator of the system. These are messages, reminders and prompts to the users relating to that particular date. It also shows upcoming meetings (allowing users to register) and latest resources such as documents and templates.

Meetings: There are Interact meetings all over Europe and users of the system can register using this sophisticated, yet user friendly, registration system to book attendance. Users have an additional set of options enabling them to specify additional requirement such as over night accommodation booking.

Training: Training programmes are available for people involved with Interact. Users can register though the system for their training requirements.

Reporting: Interact has a Reporting tool that has been designed for team use. The Administrator can create a report, create chapters for the report and can set permissions. This enables the Administrator to have control over which chapters should be edited by which users. Authorised users can contribute to reports and once the report is finished and due to be published, the Administrator can export the project to PDF or Word format.

Templates: This module allows storing templates in popular format such as PowerPoint, Word and Excell which can be down loaded by the users for their convenience.

User management: The Administrator has full control over the Interact system, being able to create new users as well as being able to activate registered users.
