Intranets and extranets
An intranet is a private computer network that is only accessible by people within an organisation. Often this takes the form of web pages.
An extranet is private and secure like an intranet but is not location or physical network dependent. Extranets are particular good for supporting distributed teams or groups made up of people from different organisations such as suppliers and resellers.
