As our business and product range expanded we decided that we needed a more professional website than the previous utilitarian version.
Because of a previous experience with a remote developer who fitted our work in to his schedule when "he had the time" we decided that it was important to find the right "partner" to carry out this crucial task.
Consequently we used the internet to research for local / regional companies who presented themselves professionally and displayed a good portfolio of website developments.
Having selected five companies we sent each our brief and then arranged follow up meetings with them to determine attitude, capabilities and fit. To be fair most of the companies appeared to be perfectly capable and all brought something new to the party, however, there were huge fluctuations in terms of one off and ongoing costs.
We decided that The Logic House were the best fit:
They understood our requirements and convinced us that they could deliver against them in terms of the timescale and cost. They presented a partnership approach (not a lock in) which allowed us a degree of content management.
Finally and most convincingly they gave us a list of their previous customers and encouraged us to consult them. We did and received glowing references.
The Logic House has very much lived up to their promises; they have gently guided us to ensure that our website vision has been delivered. Timescales and costs have been honoured and we have ended up with a website which we and they are duly proud of.
One thing we have learnt is that a website needs to be a "living document" for want of a better description and whilst we have only recently launched it we recognise tweaks are required in order to keep it constantly fresh and to ensure that maximum hits are achieved via Google and other search engines. Consequently we have invested in a reasonably priced ongoing maintenance arrangement with The Logic House.
